Geoffrey E. Taylor
Geoffrey E. Taylor has been with Harbourfront Centre for more than 20 years, and for the past six as Director of Authors at Harbourfront Centre. In h
is capacity as director he has travelled to New Zealand, Australia, the United States, Sweden, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Japan and China.
Mr. Taylor is an advisor for the Humber School of Creative Writing, and has served as a jury member for the Toronto Arts Council, Toronto Arts Awards and Amazon First Novel Award. In 2003, Mr. Taylor was the inaugural recipient of the Order of the Forest, presented by a consortium of environmental activist groups, for his extraordinary contribution towards building an ancient-forest friendly book-publishing community. In 2006, he received the Jack Award, which is presented by the Book Promoters’ Association of Canada in recognition of an individual’s significant contribution to the promotion of Canadian books and authors. Also in 2006, NOW magazine named Mr. Taylor Toronto’s most valuable player in the book world. In 2008, Quill and Quire named him one of the 30 most influential people in Canadian publishing.
