Guest Information

Seating

General seating is limited, and cannot be reserved. Tickets are not issued for Convocation, so we suggest that friends and family arrive one hour prior to the ceremony as seating is issued on a "first come first serve basis".
If you arrive within 15 minutes prior to the ceremony, you may be asked to wait until the graduates and the Platform party are seated before you are able to take your seat, this will help to ensure that everyone can be seated in an orderly fashion.
Convocation is streamed live on the internet, and we encourage your exteneded family and friends to watch the ceremony online.

Location

Please see maps.

Arrival Time

Guests should plan to arrive 1 hour prior to the ceremony and be seated no less than 15 minutes prior to the ceremonies scheduled start. Those arriving within 15 minutes of the scheduled start will be required to wait until after the procession of graduates and Platform Party members is complete and will be admitted only at a suitable “break” as determined by the Convocation staff.

Dress

There is no formal dress code enforced. Most people you will see will be dressed in a “business casual” style. Convocation regalia is provided, which includes a gown and post-graduates & degree graduates also wear a hood.

Children

Parents are reminded that although the ceremony is for the whole family, young children may find it a long time to sit quietly. Please be aware that if you do bring a young child and the child creates any disturbance, you may be asked to leave the ceremony with them. There are no day care facilities available for this event.

Caputring the Moment

Personal pictures can be taken either before or after the ceremony. We recognize that getting a picture at “the moment” is important, please show discretion when taking pictures and do not block others or you may be asked to move.

“BW Productions” will be available prior to the graduation ceremony to take portrait photographs and a sitting fee of $15.00 (cash only) is applicable.

Food and Drinks in Convocation Hall

No food or drink (other than water) is allowed in the Auditorium. There will be a reception after the ceremony with light refreshments will be provided.

The campus is wheelchair accessible. If you are using a wheelchair, or have any other special needs, please contact Jennifer Muldoon at 416 675-6622, ext 5356 at least two weeks prior to the ceremony so that we can do our best to accommodate your needs.
